Board members, Coaches, Officials, Managers, Chaperones, Volunteers and Support who participate in judo events need to understand and be familiar with background screening (SEE ATTACHMENT ABOVE).
Background screening ensures that applicants to our members meet the important requirements to participate in sport activities. It is one of three pillars of the Responsible Coaching Movement, along with rule of two and ethics training.
By registering on this site it is understood that the said registrant has completed the background screening .
Currently Judo Yukon (JY) policy is on a 3 year renewal cycle requirement which is in line and consistent with Coaches of Canada program.
Our season starts annually from September 01, this year to August 31, the following year.

To provide a safe experience for the youth participants, - as of JY Board meeting 06 Apr 2026 - we require all volunteers over the age of 18 to complete a only Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) by going to the RCMP station. Previously we used Criminal Records Check online system and JY board decided to enforce to use VSC since that would include CRC.
Contact us for a printed copy of Judo Yukon Volunteer VSC Letter that you need to bring to your local RCMP station.
Information published 01 Sep 2024.
Information updated 30 Mar 2026 (change from Sterling to local RCMP)
Information updated 06 Apr 2026 (removed CRC and use VSC only)
